Osteopathy focuses on the body’s musculoskeletal system and uses manual therapy techniques, including spinal and joint manipulation to improve health by restoring your body to a state of balance. Osteopathy aims to get to the root cause of the condition, rather than only treating symptoms. While we are not physiotherapists or Chiropractors, we understand Physiotherapy incorporates less manual therapy and focuses on rehabilitation, often using exercise prescription as the cornerstone of its therapeutic process. Chiropractic care specifically targets the spine and associated nerves.
Yes, at Mooloolaba Osteopathy & Massage both osteopathy and remedial massage therapy treatments can generally be claimed on private health insurance, depending on your plan. Please check with your provider for more specific details of your coverage. Our receptionists can also provide you with a quote, at the time of your consultation, if you have your private health care card available to swipe.
The cost of a treatment varies depending on the service. Our osteopathy and remedial massage services are competitively priced. We offer 10% off your first visit and discounted packages for multiple sessions. Please view our pricing page for more information.
The number of treatments you’ll need is based on your individual condition and will be part of your customised treatment plan. Often, you can reduce the frequency of osteopathy sessions by integrating remedial massage and dry needling therapy into your treatment plan. In saying that, some people experience significant relief after just one or two sessions.
No, you don’t need a referral to see one of our osteopaths. Simply book an appointment with us online or over the phone, and our experienced team at Mooloolaba and Maroochydore will schedule you a time with a therapist that can develop a customised treatment plan tailored to your needs.
Yes! If you have a chronic condition (lasting 6 months or more) or a complex condition requiring a team care arrangement (e.g. Type II Diabetes), you can request your doctor refer you to an osteopath, or any allied health professional, for subsidised treatment under Medicare. This referral is called a Chronic Disease Management Plan or previously known as an EPC (Enhanced Primary Care) Plan.
Yes! Our osteopaths are accredited with DVA and Medicare and are able to provide osteopathic treatment to any eligible DVA white card or gold card holders.
